The traditional village fête conjures up visions of lamingtons, fun and community. They are events that bring together local communities to celebrate its people and establish new connections. In the urban setting of London, where people hurry from one place to another, can we create new opportunities for people to interact and socialise?
What is the urban village fête? Can we imagine new settings and new activities? Will these be digital of physical? How can we tap into the rhythms of urban life and stage interventions that bring people together?
We hope this brief presents an opportunity to prototype in the wild where the team can stage a fête or small interventions in the surrounding neighbourhood.
