The Amnesty Advice Platform is a guide for families and friends of detainees providing an online participatory resource that can be used as a comprehensive guide on what to do when someone is detained.

The resource can include information, connections and local action groups on:

  • Being prepared when people are at risk of detention.
  • Providing ways for families and friends of detainees to act.
  • Providing information on how to best use social media and online tools to support detainees.

Human rights activists and people with similar experiences around the world can share their experiences and can give more precise information in relation to different situations in different circumstances and different countries.

We would like to invite designers, technologists and Amnesty experts to work together to prototype the platform as well as the guide content during the Make-a-thon event.
